For the information of International visitors and others who may never have been to our town, Scarborough is a fairly large seaside resort on the east coast of England.

Famous as one of the original ‘Spa Towns’ it expanded from a little fishing village into a large seaside resort in the 19^th century. The town was, therefore, one of the first seaside resorts in the world, boasting the largest hotel in Europe – The Grand Hotel – when it was first built.

Perhaps because of its associations with the entertainment industry, Scarborough seems to have more than its fair share of talented musicians, many of whom play at our Blues Club each week.

Scarborough is a beautiful location for a holiday. Although quite hilly, this adds to the dramatic scenery and general character of the town. The south bay is probably the most sheltered and has a small harbour which still acts as a base for the town's small fishing fleet.
